What a great website. I could not decide whether to start in Somport or Jaca, but after seeing your photo gallery, I am definitely going to start from Somport about 20 September. I just have to try to find out how I get from Madrid airport to Somport. I hope all the albergues will be open then.

In your message you ask about the best way to come to Jaca from Madrid. Nothing easier: you have bus to Zaragoza and, from there you will take another to Jaca. From here reach the Somport has no difficulty.
You wolud not have problems with the hotels – albergues on that dates: all will be open.
